Yes, use a flat screwdriver to remove both semi circular plastic covers :). Is there a specific thing I'm looking for or am i just supposed to dig into it and pull it out? Just use your screwdriver to dig into and then pull the piece out gently as you mention. I have the same monitor and it was easy to disassemble.
